The Popularity Of A Webcam Or Weather Condition Bring Down A Webcam

by @ 10:06 am. Filed under Site Info

Just a few weeks ago, we profiled one of the nicer webcams on the internet, the South Padre Island webcam. Today, Hurricane Dolly is striking that area and a quick look at the webcam brings up a 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable error. This could be because the webcam is down due to the extreme weather or it could be that because so many people are trying to see what the area looks like that the site has become overwhelmed with internet traffic and was bumped offline.

A Great Source For Travel Information And Ideas

by @ 1:12 pm. Filed under Recommendations

Most people look forward all year to their vacation time. Work and home life can be very stressful, it is a good thing to escape the rut that some of us allow ourselves to fall into and experience something new in a stress free environment and way. One of the best ways to do this is by taking one of the many tours provided by Trusted Tours & Attractions.

Last fall our family took a trip to Las Vegas and a great time was had by all. There are so many things to do in Las Vegas, that all of us were occupied and when it was time to go home we were all sad to leave because there was way more left to do. From all of the sites on the famous Las Vegas Strip to the outlying areas including Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, and Red Rock Canyon, our trip to Las Vegas is a time together that we all remember fondly. Amazing how the family gets along when you remove the stresses of daily life from it. A great feature of our trip was the things we saw courtesy of Trusted Tours & Attractions.

Next year’s vacation will be a trip to New York City, and as sure as we are that there are tons of things to do in New York City, we will again check out Trusted Tours as a way of making sure we hit all the must-see stuff. Other great things about them is they not only offer some of the best online travel guides around, but if you sign up for their eNewsletter, you are eligible to win a handheld GPS unit. Pretty cool stuff just for researching your next vacation… something you’ll be doing online anyway.

Go Camping In An RV This Year

by @ 2:56 pm. Filed under Recommendations

When it comes to a family vacation, few things satisfy every member of the family like a good old fashioned camping trip. The biggest problem with those so-called old fashioned camping trips is all the tasks that go along with it. After arriving at the campsite, the first few hours are often encompassed with unpacking the vehicle and setting up the tent. Add to that the fact that the last few hours are filled with packing up and taking the tent down and you find out that the two most exciting times (showing up and leaving) are filled with annoying tasks. This is the case if you say goodbye to the “old fashioned” part of camping and go camping in an RV.

Camping in an RV means that you have that much more time to enjoy the surroundings because you don’t have to do anything associated with tent camping. Whether you’re looking for new Motorhomes, used motorhomes, or a specialized RV, you need to check out all the options at RVS.com! We were looking there just the other day and found one that would perfectly fit our needs. RVS.com… your source for recreational vehicles.

One of the more beautiful cities to travel to in the Pacific Northwest is on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. If you look at this view of the harbor in Victoria, you can see that it is indeed a gorgeous city. There are many things that Victoria can offer to a visitor that other cities cannot. Victoria has great museums, parks, waterfronts, and more. A definite possibility for a nice visit for an entire family or a couple as well.

Indiana Joins States With Red Light Traffic Cameras

by @ 12:04 pm. Filed under In The News

The controversial red light cameras have come to the state of Indiana. Hammond Mayor Thomas McDermott Jr. has given the OK for red light cameras to be installed in his town. What makes these cameras controversial is that many people dispute that they actually ran a red light, others object to them as an invasion of privacy, and others say that they cause more traffic accidents. There is some statistical data that indicates that the more dangerous and sometimes fatal broadside have decreased due to these cameras being installed, but the more minor fender bender (rear end) type of accidents have increased.
