There are a number of reasons why a vehicle may have to leave the roadway including colliding with another automobile, slick roads, high winds, making an evasive maneuver, and more. Slowing down and driving more alertly can compensate for many of those reasons.

Here is a non-geographic webcam. It won’t help anyone get from point A to point B, but it is fun to watch. It shows a hummingbird named Phoebe nesting in a rose bush. She lays eggs about five times a season and the hatching, feeding, and first flight are all caught on camera.
Here’s a look at the webcam setup:

You can check out Phoebe all day long at: Phoebe’s Cam

There are many places online that allow visitors to certain areas of the world, or travelers who have used specific airlines or hotels, to post their reviews of their experience. Before deciding on your destination and making your reservations, spend a little time reading through these trip reviews and find out from the experiences that other people have had whether you really want to go there or not. Often a particular attraction will be closed or inaccessible and a reviewer will include this in their review of the destination, by reading this information before you make your reservations you might be saving yourself from going on a vacation that would be a huge disappointment.

When involved in a traffic accident, the police and highway patrol are there to not only help you, but to make the roadway safe for the other drivers coming through the area. This may mean that they have to sometimes be impolite or even act in the interest of others, remember that keeping the other drivers safe is important too.

Just in case your luggage does get lost, packing one change of clothing in your carry-on bag could mean that you have at least one other outfit option to make use of while the airline or taxi company searches for your lost baggage. This could be enough to get you through the first evening or the next day without necessitating that you run out to the first place possible to start replacing clothing.

It makes sense when you find out that more traffic accidents happen on busy stretches of roads. Not only are there more chances of an accident happening because more drivers are on the roadway, but there is also a better chance of it being a multiple vehicle accident because of the higher traffic levels too.

One of the best parts about taking a road trip is having the freedom to stop and see or do something that comes along during the trip. This option isn’t available to those traveling by air, bus, or rail, and should be one of the highlights of a road trip vacation. Sometimes travelers plan their itinerary a little too structured and make it impossible to stop and see an attraction or something interesting that they may never have the chance to see again. Planning a road trip itinerary more loosely and allowing for unexpected stops is a great way to go about having the kind of driving vacation you’ve always wanted.

Cable barriers can save lives. They still stop the vehicle going through them and they lessen the severity of the impact when compared to concrete barriers.

A folded up canvas or cloth bag doesn’t take up much room in your luggage and can be very beneficial once you’ve reached your destination. These work great for taking some snacks and other necessities for a walk down to the beach, going on a shopping trip, or even a drive or tour bus trip. In many of these situation it would be easier or more fun to have a few items along with you and this day trip bag can carry them for you. It can also act as an extra piece of baggage for bringing items purchased on vacation home at the end of the trip.

High winds can cause problems for drivers driving large vehicles like semi-trucks and RVs. Driving these type of vehicles in extremely high winds is not recommended as the wind can catch the largely empty shell of the vehicle and possibly blow it off the road or into another vehicle.
